Versace Mansion available to tour for $50

The Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive

Ever wondered what it would be like to have a first-hand look inside the Versace mansion? Other than scanning various magazine pages to get a glimpse? Well, now you can!

Casa Casuarina, previously known as the Versace House, has announced that they are now going to open to the public. For the first time ever, guided tours featuring the iconic history and legendary architectural beauty will be available for a mere $50. Each tour will accommodate up to 20 people and will last for 45-minutes. The tours will be available three-times per day, from August 18th – September 30th. Catch them  at 9a.m, 11a.m and 2p.m.

In addition to the guided tour, breakfast will be served for $25 and lunch for $35.

Casa Casuarina, aka the Versace House, was built in 1930 and modeled after the Alcazar de Colon in Santo Domingo.

Gianni Versace purchased the building in 1992 for $2.9 million. After receiving city approval, the hotel was demolished next door, and replaced with a two-storey addition, thus becoming Versace’s Miami Beach house.

Versace was murdered on the front steps to the gate in July 1997.

Peter Loftin, a telecommunications billionaire, purchased the house from the Versace Estate in September 2000 for approximately $19 million. No longer a ‘members only’ club; Loftin began allowing people to book rooms at the mansion like a hotel last year. Room rates start at $1200 a night.
