Vanity Fair Best Dressed List 2008
Every year, Vanity Fair releases a list of best dressed celebrities, political figures, and socialites. This year, there is a surprising mix that tops the list. Ranging from Hollywood hotties to political significant others, this array of taste is sure to inspire the pallette of fashion for next season. Sitting high on the list are Ivanka Trump and Michelle Obama, both of whom set a classic and modern style with a feminine twist. Top ranking Hollywood includes Sarah Jessica Parker -who made Blahnik iconic- Angelina Jolie -who reinvented the family gettup- and Christy Turlington -who is reminiscent of classic fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn. Fashion politica include Kate Middleton, known for sporting Phillip Tracy hats, boots and tailored jackets, as well as French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. These leading ladies rule the ranks in nothing but the best; Louis Vitton, Manolo Blahnic, Hermes, and Roberto Cavalli.
Just as eclectic is the list of men to top this coveted ranking, ranging again with a mix of Hollywood, political figures and musicians. Zac Goldsmith, Director of The Ecologist Magazine tops the list of men in a classic tailored suit, who along with Daniel Craig and Matt Lauer, are tailored by Tom Ford. These men are known for their traditionally understated, yet fashion forward style. David Becham, Brad Pitt, and Kanye West are also making statements with big names like Armani, Louis Vitton, and Omega.
