The Vogue revolution
Today is a very important day for fashion bible Vogue, not only is the “extra-extra large” (727 pages of advertising) September issue hitting stands but it is also the launch of its shopping broadband Internet channel. The site offers direct links to products featured in the Condé Nast magazine. It also features some programming, such as “Behind the Lens” (a behind the scene videos of the season’s most interesting ad campaigns and events, like Chloe or “L” by Gwen Stefani), “60 Seconds to Chic” (a quick makeover show) and “Trend watch” (a source for the latest fashion and style trends). According to Mr. Florio, publishing director of Vogue , the programs on ShopVogue.TV will give “more of a nonfiction perspective” on the fashion industry. The channel will also encourage visitors to upload their personal fashion looks photos. Vogue expects the site to become the You Tube of fashion with 500,000 users (per month) in the first few months. This is definitely going to change the way millions of people shop. Is this going to change the way you shop?
