Singer Bryan Adams is the photographer behind the lens of the Guess S/S 2008 Ad Campaign

For the marketing initiative, breaking next month on billboards and in style bibles such as Vanity Fair, Interview, W, Vogue, Visionaire and Wallpaper. Adams captured Swedish beauty Line Gost vamping à la Sophia Loren. Adams re-created a rustic Italian village at Melody Ranch, located some 30 miles outside of the City of Angels. Guess even hired Loren’s hairstylist, Peter Savic, and makeup artist Joanne Gair to transform Gost into the Italian siren for the black-and-white photographs. The 20 shots by Adams are only one aspect of Guess’ campaign.

Adams captured Swedish beauty Line Gost vamping à la Sophia Loren in gingham microshorts, flouncy black dresses and snow white blouses tucked into skintight jeans.

Adams stated: “I wanted a modern feel for the shoot, but also wanted the nostalgic feeling of some of the original Guess campaigns.”

Adams said he will donate his fees to his namesake foundation that funds projects supporting the elderly, victims of wars and natural disasters and other disadvantaged individuals. “I’m looking forward to working with [Guess and Marciano] again,” he said

Adams has had his photographs published in British Vogue, L’uomo Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, among others. On June 1, 2005, he published his first book of photos in the United States with Calvin Klein called American Women; proceeds from this book go to breast cancer research for programs at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He released a similar book of photos called Made In Canada in December 1999. Both of his books were dedicated to his friend Donna, who died of the disease.

As a photographer, Adams has worked with many of his musical peers, including Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, Robert Plant, Joss Stone, Placido and many others.

As a singer. some of Byrans Adams best-known albums are Reckless, 18 til I Die, and Waking Up the Neighbours. Adams has been nominated three times for Academy Awards for his songwriting in films. Reckless has since been certified five times platinum in the US. The album and single topped the charts in many countries with “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” spending record-breaking 16 weeks at number one on UK Singles Chart and topped the charts in 17 countries. It also made record-breaking sales of 4 million copies in the US. Adams won a Grammy Award in 1991 for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.
