Renee Zellweger lights up Harper Bazaar’s
The A-list actress and screen chameleon reflects on fame, flirting, and never standing still in the upcoming December 2007 issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
On being a homebody: “I’m not a big scene girl. If I see the scene once a year, that’s more than plenty.”
On being single: “I’m so busy catching up with the people I miss when I’m working that I’m not busy missing someone. That’s it. I’m not sad about it, not at all.”
On her one-time rumoured flame Paul McCartney: “He’s as lovely as I expected. We have mutual friends. The crush and I have mutual friends.”
On watching (or not) Seinfeld: “Am I the only American you’ve ever met who’s never seen it? I know I’m the only American I know who didn’t watch,” she says, giving a grimace of sacrilegious guilt.
On turning 40: “My plan is to ignore the creaks and dents and the cumulative damage left over from skiing experiences gone bad and too many miles run in bad shoes and just live… I don’t want to not change, because what is there to look back on?”
On her perfect night in: “Anderson Cooper would probably be involved at some juncture.”
And the perfect night out: A margarita for one at the Palm, her favorite restaurant in the Hamptons, “or a really nice Christmas party. I love to go to somebody’s house when it gets a little bit later and there’s dancing and laughter and nobody’s pointing at the weird actor girl in the corner.”
On life as a celeb: “There are certain things about a conventional life that I absolutely feel I miss. Absolutely. But I guess you choose your life, and I find myself in this pretty extraordinary, exceptionally bizarre life, and it’s everything I dreamed of as a child.”
