Milan Fashion Week: Gianfranco Ferré
Gianfranco Ferré’s womenswear Spring 2008 collection is the last one he designed before passing away last June. Travel and discovery inspired the collection which was presented today during Milan Fashion Week. Easy-to-wear pieces, yet very flattering to the woman’s figure, depicted Ferré’s unique and timeless vision of fashion. Light materials such as silk and loose fitting cotton dominated the show along with high wait and wide legs trousers. Models walked on the mirrored catwalk wearing thick-soled shoes matching the soft earth tones pieces presented. Ferré, whose successor has yet to be determined, had also shown his skills with leather by designing trellis-worked jackets in yellow and chocolate brown.
