Her name is Olga Kurylenko. You may remember her from the movie ‘Hitman’ last year. You can see her in ‘Max Payne’ this year and, of course, starring in the newest James Bond movie “Quantum of Solace”.

The model/actress began her humble acting career playing Santa Claus’s young wife in a school play in the Ukraine. She grew up in a quiet city, population of 140,000, on the Azov Sea in Southeastern Ukraine.

The brunette was recently in Moscow to promote the latest Bond film, and says she never imagined she’d be selected as a Bond girl.

Her hometown piano teacher had reportedly praised her former pupil saying “She was such a talented girl…Even if she hadn’t become James Bond’s girl; she still would have gotten some big role.”

The school was overwhelmed by journalists after she was cast for the new Bond movie.

Her career began when she was spotted in a Moscow subway by a model scout at the age of 16, while on vacation. She moved to Paris to work for a modeling agency and then launched into acting.

The new James Bond movie “Quantum of Solace” is out in theatres November 14, 2008.

She is currently filming two other movies; Tyranny and Kirot.
