Julia Roberts for Armani AIDS T-shirt
Julia Roberts has teamed up with Italian fashion designer, Giorgio Armani, to design a T-shirt which will be sold under the “Red” label.
This effort is to raise money for the fight against AIDS in Africa. Her shirt will feature a drawing of the symbolic tree of life with the words “revolution.evolution.devotion” (Red) arching over the foliage.
This will be the second time that Roberts has worked with Armani for the “Red” label. Her same idea of the tree was designed for a leather bracelet.
The funds will go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The money raised from events and products sales tied to this label have raised more than $110 million since its conception in 2006.
Armani also sells clothing, accessories, eyewear, watches, fragrances and jewelry under the “Red” label, with 40 percent of the gross profit margin on sales going to the fund.
The T-shirt designed by Roberts is available this month both online and at Emporio Armani stores worldwide. The T-shirt will feature her signature inside.
