Model Spotlight: Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann
Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann, the daughter of the stunning Isabella Rossellini and granddaughter of icon Ingrid Bergman, may be one of the most level-headed models in the business. For one, the 24-year-old is moving to London this year to get her Master’s Degree in Biomedicine. For another, she reportedly does more than just “say” she’s concerned about the environment – she asked Lancôme to offset the carbon footprint that occurs from her travels modeling for them.
These are only a couple of the reasons Wiedemann is different. Like her mother, Wiedemann was diagnosed with scoliosis when she was young, and the result was a back brace she had to wear for five years. There are few things that teach humility better than being forced to wear a brace everywhere you go.
While Rossellini was Lancôme’s face for 14 years, Wiedemann got her contract with the company completely on her own. President Odile Roujol came across a photo of Wiedemann and thought her looks would make her a perfect fit for their Asian market. It was only later that Roujol discovered who her mother was.
The family connection makes Elettra Wiedemann interesting without knowing anything else about her, but this is only a small part of Wiedemann’s intrigue. She is a beautiful, witty professional in her own right, and is sure to soar to great heights.
