Contact lense jewelry by Erick Klarenbeek

Eric Klarenbeek has created eye jewels that hang from your contact lenses. It’s not supposed to affect your eyesight, but I can’t help but cringe when I think of it snagging on a sweater.

The dutch artist/designer says his work is based on interaction and innovation. You can’t doubt this when you see his Eye Jewelry. Klarenbeek is always looking for new connections between makers and users, between body and art. To him, scale and usefulness are irrelevant.

This makes me a bit nostalgia, after all I was in high school at the emergence of Punk – safety pin through the cheek anyone?
