Claire Danes is the new face of Gucci’s fine jewelry ad campaign, the Chiodo collection. She has replaced Drew Barrymore.

Danes, 29, reportedly commented on her new role saying she is “excited” about this new endeavor with the Italian fashion house: “I am honoured to be working with Gucci on their jewelry campaign. Frida Giannini is a very inspiring and creative woman. Her vision is extraordinary and I am excited to be a part of it.”

Frida Giannini, Gucci creative director, reportedly said about their newest face: “Claire Danes is a modern icon. For me she is one of the most interesting young actresses on the international scene. She is very natural, fresh and has a carefree attitude that is reflected in the roles she has chosen. Claire’s sensual, confident beauty and her passionate, independent and strong character embodies today’s Gucci woman.”

The photographs feature a sun-kissed Danes, with strawberry-blond hair and is adorned with nothing but beautiful gem encrusted bracelets, rings and necklaces.

This is not the first modeling gig for Danes. Last year you may remember seeing her in a TV commercial for the GAP with actor Patrick Wilson.
