The perfect basic this season? The strapless dress.

Dress it up with silver heels or dress down with a denim jacket. The strapless dress is a sexy and elegant look for all sizes yet some fear they are showing too much skin. The important things to look at when purchasing one is fit, the right bra and keeping accessories simple.

Spend time in the dressing room inspecting the dress. Make sure it fits from all angles. If it’s too small or too big, go for one size up and take it in. You don’t want to be spilling out anywhere.

An obvious assumption would be to go for a strapless bra, though they tend to slip. I recommend a long-line strapless bra, it’s a bra with no straps that extends to the waist, adding support and no slippage. Or you could just pin your bra to the inside of your dress, just to be safe.

A strand of pearls or a small pendant necklace would suit this. You don’t want too look too dramatic, and they dress is already doing that for you. Grab your heels and you’re off!
