Anne Hathaway is said to have signed on to play the role of the White Queen in Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Burton is directing this movie adaption of the classic children’s fantasy for Disney.

Others who have signed onto roles in the film include Helena Bonham Carter, Burton’s fiancée. She will be playing the Red Queen, formerly known as the Queen of Hearts.

Johnny Depp is aboard to play the Mad Hatter and Australian actress, Mia Wasikowska is set to play Alice.

Burton will use a combination of “live action and performance-capture technology” to tell the classic tale which is due to be released March 5, 2010.

Hathaway’s is already getting rave reviews for her performance in “Rachel Getting Married” and will next be seen in horror thriller, “Passengers.”
