Uganda offical seeks to ban miniskirts

If your next destination is Uganda, be sure not pack your miniskirt.

Uganda’s ethics and integrity minister, Nsaba Buturo, says miniskirts should be banned in the nation because women wearing them distract drivers and cause traffic accidents.

“What’s wrong with a miniskirt? You can cause an accident because some of our people are weak mentally,” said Buturo.

Buturo told journalists in Kampala, the capital, that wearing that sort of attire is the same thing as being naked.

“These days you hardly know who is a mother from a daughter, they are all naked,” he said.

Joshua Mmali, a BBC journalist, said journalists found the minister’s comments hilarious.

“If you find a naked person you begin to concentrate on the make-up of that person and yet you are driving,” he said.

Buturo believes wearing a miniskirt should be regarded as “indecent” which should be punishable under the Ugandan law. He is seeking to officially ban miniskirts from the nation.
