Jennifer Lopez completes triathlon for a good cause
Jennifer Lopez was among the many competitors at the annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon over the weekend. It benefits the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles’ Pediatric Cancer Research Program.
The 39-year-old finished in just under 2 and half hours. She had to complete a half-mile ocean swim, 18-mile bike ride and a four-mile run. Lopez enlisted the help of Gunnar Peterson to help her prepare. This was her first triathlon.
She may not have had the best time, but she gets an ‘A’ for effort! (Especially after recently giving birth to twins back in February!)
Lopez raised $125,000 on her own for this event. Her husband, Marc Anthony, cheered from the sidelines and escorted Lopez to the VIP area after she crossed the finish line.
The overall winner of the triathlon was Chris McCormack. Hundreds of people came out to give their support. Some of the competitors included: Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, John Hamm, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Jon Cryer, Monique Coleman, Scott Foley and Anna Kournikova.
