Lauren Conrad to write book for teens
After a failed “fashion line” (if you would even call it that), Lauren Conrad is using her love of reading(?) to write a book for teens (although, for some reason, I really do not think she will be writing any of it… actually, I HOPE she won’t be..). HarperCollins Publishers must be desperate.
The Hills star, 22, has signed a three-book deal with HarperCollins Publishers to pen a young adult fiction series.
The trilogy will be called “L.A. Candy”, which is basically a story about Lauren’s life. The press release says the novel will be about “a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show.” Of course, the book will also include all of the beautiful clothing, fame, scandal and drama! that comes along with the glamourous life.
… the release goes deeper, quoting that …GASP… “The character soon realizes that everyone wants something from her, and nothing is what it appears to be.”
Sounds a lot like Lauren’s “real life”? No?
I wonder why HarperCollins has decided to publish this. Do you think it has something to do with the whole Gossip Girl novel turned television thing? I wonder.
Will you be reading this?
The first book will be published in next summer.
