Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood to glamorize Buckingham Palace guards
Did you know it takes an entire bear to create the iconic bear-skin hats worn by the Buckingham Palace guards?
The large, black hats worn by the stern and silent guards is stirring up quite the controversy with P.E.T.A. and a number of protesters.
Recently, the animal rights group met with the Ministry of Defense to discuss ideas for replacing the iconic hats with an ethically-friendly solution.
P.E.T.A. supporters Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood were the two designers who came to the forefront and will now create an alternative for the guards.
