Nail Marbling: Making a Statement with your Fingertips
A friend told me about this once and when I first tried it, well, let’s just say I had to cover nail polish remover stains on my mom’s dresser and it was the last time I was in her room.
Well these days I have tried the infamous nail polish marbling again, and with added patience and effort this time around, I ended up with amazing results.
Here is a step-to-step outline on how to make your fingers sparkle:
Step 1: the collection
Collect two-four of your favourite nail polishes, keeping in mind choosing colours that go well together.

Step 2: your props
Fill a small bowl with water half-way and make sure you have a toothpick ready.

Step 3: a swirl of colour
Pour just a few drops of your nail polishes into the bowl and use the toothpick to move the colours around, usually creating lines or spirals.
Step 4: a dip of patience
Take ONE fingernail and drop it into the nail polish design inside the bowl and leave it there for about five minutes. (At this time all the nail polish can stick to your nail and slowly dry.

Step 5: Removal and touch-ups
Slowly lift your finger out of the bowl and let the nail polish sit on your nail for another few minutes. After it is dried, be very careful and use nail polish remover to remove all the left over nail polish around your fingers.
Note: you can also add on another layer of clear nail polish for extra protection.
Oceasia.com, a popular website based on nails says that this procedure can also be done with “fake nails” or stick-ons. (They did a nice job with the pictures as well).
