Comme des Garcons for H&M

I am slightly in love with collaborations and have regularly reported on newly formed partnership (Play by C. Ronson, Alexander McQueen and Puma, Urban Outfitters and Steven Alan) but the collaboration between Comme des Garcons and H&M tops them
all.
Back in June H&M reported that Rei Kawakubo, the mastermind designer behind Comme des Garcons, would be designing a men’s and women’s collection for the store and pretty much everyone who knew anything about fashion swooned and let out a quiet squeal. (A loud one would have surely attracted unwanted stink eyes from their roommates.)
The September issue of W magazine will preview the collaboration, which will be launching in Japan before it hits North America sometime later this fall. Japanese tomboys supposedly inspired the beautifully deconstructed and black clothes. The collection includes the following:
…[A] range of tailored jackets, many deconstructed, along with cropped pants, baggy shorts and a variety of skirts in stretch wool. On the perkier side are polka dot knits in jersey or merino wool, colorful shirts—some with dots—and a “showpiece” coatdress decorated here and there with dense Victorian ruffles.
Time to start saving ladies, I know I wouldn’t want to miss adding a piece of Comme des Garcons to my wardrobe.
