My absolute all time favourite designer and the only ideal person to substitute the fashion-icon Mademoiselle Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, will be launching a new bag collection in Spring 2009. The collection took a year to develop and features 42 designs. There are even laptop cases which will be perfect for wearing a little fashion in the workplace as well. The bag line is “inspired by the designer’s passion for modern architecture and photography, and especially by his spirited lifestyle and iconic personality.” Besides laptop cases, the collection also includes slim totes, bags with leather covered chain handles, bags with grommets, and bags with sunglass lenses beneath the handles. My favourite feature on the bags is the handles cut out in the shape of Lagerfeld’s glasses. In the coming spring, these gorgeous bags will be available in the high-end department stores for $595 to $3,000. Look below for a first look of some of the bags from the line.
