According to recent reports, pop-hunk turned actor, Justin Timberlake, is being lined up to host the Academy Awards next year. Oscar bosses were apparently amazed and very much impressed with Timberlake’s funny performance as frontman the ESPY Awards last month. He delivered a performance any comedian would envy as the host of the awards, which is why Oscar bigwigs are hoping he can inject some life into their show.

It is a well observed fact that the Oscars have been suffering from a drop in ratings as younger viewers switch off in recent years. They seem to be unimpressed by the line-up of older, less glitzy celebrity appearances. Justin just might be able to reel in young viewers and make the show much more exciting.

For my sake, and I’m sure yours, Justin should snag the part, because otherwise who will hold the torch? Rumours have it that Tina Fey, comedienne star of Baby Mama, is a possible alternative.
