Madonna Wardrobe for Sticky Sweet Tour
By now most people have heard about Madonna’s Sticky Sweet tour set to start in August and finish late October. What they may not have heard is that the Material Girl is being decked out in what will surely become one of the most coveted wardrobes to hit the stage in a decade. Arianne Phillips, Madonna’s stylist over the last 11 years, designing the singer’s ‘Ray of Light’ look to urban cowgirl in ‘Music’, has booked killer names for the pop queen’s tour.
Let’s start from the top. Over the course of the tour, which will feature four different stages of the iconic musicians style, will all be designed by big-name, very drool worthy designers. The four stages are - gangsta pimp and Art Deco, dominatrix, ‘old school’ - vintage pieces inspired by late graffiti artist Keith Haring, gypsy and finally a futuristic ensemble with hints of Japanese pop-culture.
Designing the collection was no easy feat, “This time, the tour begins in August. It’s a nightmare. Everyone in Italy and France is on a beach sunning themselves,” explained Arianne Phillips.
Nonetheless, the show will feature names like Givenchy, Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent. Miu Miu has also designed thigh-high boots courtesy of Stella McCartney, there will be custom-made sunglasses by Moschino and Jeremy Scott (one of my favorites) will be designing Madonna’s vintage pieces for the ‘old school’ section.
If you haven’t already bought your Madonna tickets, start combing the Internet now!
