Justin Timberlake the face of Givenchy Play
Givenchy is launching two new men’s fragrances, one is an addition to its Pi line began back in 1998, and the other a new line called Play and Play Intense.
Pi Neo was created by Givaudan’s Antoine Lie, while the Play scents were put concocted by Lucas Sieuzac and Emilie Coppermann of Symrise, with Parfums Givenchy Creative Director Françoise Donche.
According to Parfums Givenchy President Alain Lorenzo, to create the Play scents, perfumers were told to “Develop a note that’s going to be really original, and once you’ve got it, make two versions of it,” Lorenzo said. “One which will be pushing it even more toward originality and the other which is pulling it toward accessibility, making it fresher, easier.”
While Pi Neo will be sold at stores such as Sephora and Macy’s in August, Play won’t be sold in the U.S. for another year, but will be available in other countries. Pi Neo’s 1.7 oz. bottle will cost about $48, while Play’s 50 ml. size bottle will go for $74.
