Looking fresh and pretty, pop star/actress/soon-to-be country singer, Jessica Simpson graces the cover of the upcoming September issue of Elle Magazine.

Inside Simpson opens up about her days of darkness after her much publicized divorce from Nick Lachey and how it led her to feel like she never wanted to sing again. In the story, she says that she went from feeling like America’s darling to America’s most wanted as the media scrutinized her every move on how she coped with her divorce and the relationships that followed.

But there exists a light at the end of her dark tunnel that includes her current boyfriend, quarterback Tony Romo and her forthcoming country album titled,”Remember That.” The less-hollywood-more-country-themed photo spread with Simpson clad in plaid seems like a tribute, not only to her country album, but to a new more humble direction in her life.
