“Fashionistas” to the Big Screen
For all the hopeful fashion editor wannabes out there’s another book to help give insight into the competitive world of fashion magazines aside from The Devil Wears Prada. It’s called Fashionistas by Lynn Messina. And guess what. It’s on its way to the big screen.
Fashionistas follows the story of lowly associate editor Vig Morgan who works under the tyrannical rule of editor-in-chief Jane McNeil at Fashionista magazine. She gets involved in a plot to overthrow her ruthless boss with a fictitious must-have designer.
No official word yet on who is to star in the movie adaptation of the book, also titled Fashionistas. However, a few years back there was talk that Lindsay Lohan would be cast as the lead. Forgive me La-Lohan fans, but I’m hoping for someone else. I admit I haven’t yet read the book, but it sounds the character calls for someone a bit more witty and intelligent. Perhaps an actress like Ellen Paige (from Juno)?
