J.C. Penney Launches New Active Line Xersion for the Olympics
To get into the Olympic spirit, J.C. Penney will be launching a brand new active-wear collection called Xersion on August 8.
This collection is the company’s first time designing and producing its own brand. JCP already has a collection of acting-wear by SJB Active for women and Simply for Sports for men, but this new collection will break former traditional looks.
“The active-wear industry is growing in double digits and we are growing in the mid-teens, whereas women’s is growing at a low-single-digit pace,” said Liz Sweney, the executive vide president and general merchandise manager for women’s apparel to WWDretail.com.
The new line however will only be available at 600 of its 1074 stores.
