I am willing to come forward and confess that I for one, never saw the return of the shoulder pad in high fashion. A trend i thought would be lost in the 80’s forever, has somehow or another resurfaced for a runway comeback. No longer lost in rerun episodes of 80’s classics such as ‘Dynasty’ or ‘Dallas’ the broad shoulder look is back, however, maybe not better then ever. No more clearly can the reinstatement of this trend be seen as in the new Sex and the City movie, where Samantha Jones, displays a large variety of shoulder-padded, 80’s inspired fashions.

Shoulder pads on high fashions runways have started to appear as well, however, before the panic sets in, the modern take on the shoulder pad is much less of a severe statement, more power work wear then sequin-studded football player look. So ladies its time to stand up straight, walk tall and evoke your inner 80’s diva, say hello to the return of shoulder pads, whether you like it or not.
