Is it me or do summer sales start earlier each year? I swear each year they begin a day or two earlier than the next. Even though it is still summer and yes very hot, sometimes I can’t bring myself to buy something because its almost over….

Over this past year I have become very fond of layering. My fave - a cute strappy dress over a t-shirt with jeans. Now this look isn’t only for those who sport the single digit size, it is great for us curvy chicks who prefer to show our shape - not hide it under fabric. The secret is in the jeans - pants that is.

Make it your mission to find a great pair of jeans or trousers that are snug - you should feel them squeezing in your body, but not cutting off your circulation. Jeans that hug your curves and mould your shape are worth their weight in gold.

Now add a t-shirt, long sleeves or short, and a cute dress. The dress should be above your knee and with those fabulous jeans on it will glide over your body. So if you are debating over that gorgeous spaghetti strap dress, with the empire waist and pludging neckline….buy it. It will look gorgeous over a contrasting t, straight leg or boot cut jeans.

Don’t be afraid of mixing patterns and colours. Remember back in elementary school when you studied the colour wheel? Colours opposite each other, compliment each other. And who wrote the rule you can’t where floral prints with stripes?
