Plus-Size Clothes by Ashley Judd
When I first heard about this, I thought Ashley Judd had ballooned up like Kirstie Alley and I hadn’t even noticed. Turns out the southern belle is still her svelte self, she’s just expanding on her existing clothing line with a plus-size offering.
Judd began her clothing line venture last year after turning down the option at first, believing her obstinate ideals would make her difficult to work with. After being promised by Knoxville-based Goody’s that proceeds would benefit schools in need – $500,000 worth of grants in the first year, to be exact – she signed on, and has been selling her wares through retailing giant ever since. Goody’s CEO George Turlinski believed that Judd would be a relatable role model for their market base (primarily residents in the South), and she has been, her original collection receiving a warm welcome from customers.
The Ashley Judd Plus Line will include denim, organic and knit tees, jackets, blazers, sweaters, trousers, and cardigan sets. The collection is fairly priced; around $30 for a pair of jeans or $15 for a basic tank. Check it out at Goody’s.com.
