Take a deep breathe before you read this next sentence because it might shake you to the core. New York Magazine recently reported that Tom Ford is returning to womenswear! A couple of years ago Ford claimed that he would never do womenswear again and told the press that he had decided to focus on movies instead because he felt that fashion was “such a big job and you’re completely married to it.” A sigh of disappointment could be quietly heard throughout the halls of Gucci, Vogue and downtown department stores. Now Ford, once the head designer of Gucci, could potentially be back designing luxury gowns, frocks and dresses in a mere three years! The highly successful designer said, “I have to find a niche to give women what they don’t already have. Once I figure that out and get the men’s distribution exactly where I want it, I will return to it. That’s probably at least two or three years from now.”
