Vogue Italia addresses black model issue
In the upcoming July issue, Vogue Italia addresses the issue of racial prejudice in the fashion industry. The renown magazine has decided to grab the bull by the horns by publishing an all black issue for the month of July. Recent statistics show that black Models do not get a fair share of the jobs offered in the industry. Under the perception that black models sell less, the industry has excluded those type models leading to a serious misrepresentation of black models in the Industry. This special july issue will be entirely shot by the renown photographer Steven Miesel. Franco Sozzani, editor in chief of Vogue Italia is the responsible behind this whole operation. She states that the lack of diversity in the runways is an important issue in the fashion industry and should be taken seriously.
