Manolo Blahnik 12th Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Honoree
Following in the steps of Fashion Demi-gods James Galanos, Gianni and Donatella Versace, Salvatore Ferragamo, Edith Head, James Acheson and Milena Canonero, Herb Ritts and Mario Testino, Tom Ford and Armani, Manolo Blahnik is set to have his name permanently inked on the dazzlingly streets of Rodeo drive September 25.
The Rodeo Drive Committee and the City of Los Angeles will bestow the 12th annual Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award to Blahnik in September, awarding the designer a recognition that he has deserved before the Heyday of Sex and the City. Blahnik’s store in Manhattan is a must-see tourists stop for any loyal fan of the show and within its glistening marble walls beholds some of the most beautiful and iconic shoes in the world.
Manolo started his designs in a small shop in London, 1979 after earning a degree in literature from the University of Geneva. His immaculate attention to detailing, the sky-high five-inch heel and the outstanding beading have helped secured his mark in pop culture and has made him one of the most recognizable and respected designers in fashion.
The next winner…Louboutin, without a doubt.
