Viktor and Rolf Doll

Does the doll look fimiliar? Yes that’s right! The doll is wearing one of Viktor and Rolf’s signature pieces from their Fall 2005 collection. On June 18, The Barbican Art Gallery in London will showcase its very first Viktor and Rolf’s collection. Called the “House of Viktor and Rolf”, the dutch duo will present each of the designer’s signature pieces from 1992 to the present which includes the winning piece from the prestigious fashion competition at Hyeres in Southern France, the atomic bomb (1998-99): dramatic mushroom cloud-like cushioned necklaces, Russion Doll (1999-2000): model is painstakingly dressed in layers of haute couture which weigh 70 kilogrammes, and Bells (2000-2001): models emerged from smoke in clothes embroidered with hundreds of brass bells so audiences could hear bells before the models were being seen.
Each of their signature pieces will also be reproduced in miniature size for dolls.
Be sure not to miss the House of Viktor and Rolf shop where you can find books, specifically commissioned silk scarves by the designers, postcards, and more.
Tickets are 6-8 pounds and lasts until September 21.
