High-waisted shorts and pants began to be modeled again on the runways in 2007 after a decade-long absence. Now the trend has adjusted for 2008 to include denim skirts worn with suspenders, and the look is expected to continue throughout the rest of the year.

The trend is very flattering on thinner women as it accentuates the waist, but those who are more curvy should show caution before plunging into this look.

The most attractive top styles to wear with the high-waisted skirts are t-shirts or solid colored button down blouses that can be tucked in.
