Christies London Auctions Christina Onassis’ Jewelry

The jewelry and diamonds that were once worn by the Christina Onassis were auctioned off at the Christies in London sale today. The collection has sold for twice its estimated value, with one piece, a Faberge buddha, going for over $1.8 million. The entire collection was sold for more than $10 million.

Christina’s daughter, Athina, who put the pieces up for sale, was the sole heir to her mother’s jewelry. Athina was only 3-years-old when her 37-year-old mother died of a heart attack more than 20 years ago. Athina is estimated to be worth $1.6 billion.
