Esquire’s Guide to Denim

In a recent issue of Esquire magazine you can find “The Esquire Guide to Denim”. This article is a type of how-to guide for guys on buying the right pair of jeans. The article is spilt up into four sections: Four Pairs, Four Prices, Three Ways to Wear Denim, Questions and Answers for a Man in Denim ,The Endorsement: The Unadorned Back Pocket. Within these sections Esquire lays out what to buy, wear, and what not to wear in men’s denim. It encourages a return to simplicity and discourages embellishment, notably any hint of back pocket design or flare. Overall this guide to denim is somewhat of a ‘denim for dummies’ however it offers good basic advice and hey, who doesn’t love a man in a good old pair of well fitting blue jeans!?
