As I type this, I find myself shifting between amusement and nausea. Lindsay Lohan has had a light bulb moment and is working with the one thing that can’t fire her or criticize her work ethic: stretchy pieces of fabric! Lohan has finally unveiled her latest desperate cash grab, her leggings line 6126, named after Marilyn Monroe’s birth date (6/1/26). We’ve all probably seen the sneak peeks of the leggings, with their zips, shiny accents, and, err, knee pads. No information yet on where they’ll be sold, or what their retail price will be.

What’s the most surprising is amount of interest for the leggings line. Call me the minority, but I’ve always had a burning hate for leggings. Ditto for Lindsay Lohan (I’m the majority there). Therefore, the combination of the two makes for one powerful stomach-churning force that overwhelms me. Even if I were a leggings fan, I would not support this cretin by buying from her line; I would get mine from a legitimate fashion brand, and not someone who wears leggings only because pants are too cumbersome for her “lifestyle.”

Biases aside, I do think this is like the last horse crossing the finish line – it’s way too late to be introducing this sort of thing. The trend is on the decline, and with summer coming to most of the world, it’ll be too hot to cover up with these things. All the flashy little details on Lindsay’s leggings will not be able to save them. Come Fall, the 6126 leggings line along with leggings in general will be another unfortunate memory that we’ll all pretend not to remember. Too little too late, I’m afraid. I hope Lindsay will put the 10 bucks that she’ll make from this project to good use.
