Avril Lavigne inks fragrance deal with Procter & Gamble
Avril Lavigne has signed a contract with Procter & Gamble to create her first perfume. The new scent will be aimed at teens.
While asked about it, her response was that “Creating this fragrance is a fun process and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone.”
Procter and Gamble plans to release the scent in fall of 2009 and additional perfumes are expected to follow.
Heike Hindenlang, Procter & Gamble’s global marketing director for their line of Prestige Products, hopes that the fragrance will help them reach the tween market. “Young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her,” Hindenlang said.
