Taken right out of the pages of history books, the gladiator shoe is definitely back, and certainly not out of date.

Also known as “the Jesus sandal,” or “the 300 shoe,” the gladiator shoe is a chic, summer-y alternative to the tried-and-true flip flop. Typically made of leather, gladiators can be paired with anything.

Gladiators, like the ‘Leonitis’ by Steve Madden, balance out a voluminous; girly, a-line sun dress by adding some rustic edge. Azzedine Alai stiletto gladiators, on the other hand, can dress up high-waisted skinny jeans and a casual blouse. The ASOS leather high-leg gladiator is definately not for timid dresser. These can be paired with short trapeze dresses and pencil skirts to add some umph.
