Ah, to be young again (Your post-prom prom season guide)

Prom season is among us. For those of us who are not 18-year-old girls, we can still take advantage of the coming-of-age ritual of finding the most unique dress, hair, makeup and accessories around.
If you’re like me, you love dresses and want a new one for each occasion that may (or may not) require a dress. Prom season is the best time to shop for a dress, even if you don’t need one. Trying on different styles is not just a fun afternoon with a girlfriend but also gives you a great idea of what looks good on you. This comes in handy when you’re pressed for time to find dress later on or if you’re designing your own (Do I hear wedding bells?). With any luck you’ll find one that you just can’t live without, which means that later on when you’ve got a dress event you’ll have the perfect dress! (And a girl can’t have too many dresses.) A great time to buy that made-for-you dress is mid to late June when most proms have come and gone. Chances are, your dream dress will be on sale.
Other sales to take advantage of during prom season include hair and make-up deals. Most salons will have group or combination rates for the special day. These deals are great if you’ve got a special occasion or you’re just going out for a fun night on the town.
For you grads-to-be, do remember that this is a special time- so embrace the night! And if you happen to be one of the lucky ones to encounter a little bit of a “twin syndrome”, keep in mind that you’ve got fabulous taste as does your friend in the blue version of your pink dress.
