Fashion designer Roberto Cavalli is turning his knack for event organising into a business. The Italian designer is preparing to open a chain of Cavalli Clubs. With plans already well underway, the first club is scheduled to open in Dubai this October and Cavalli is getting his ultra-glamorous references in order: there will be a red carpet, pretty girls on the door to welcome guests and an interior made up of “modern and Renaissance influences, the past and the future, and especially a Tuscan touch in the kitchen”, he explains. Its opening will coincide with a new block of luxury residences he is opening in Dubai this year, and it is expected to be followed by clubs in London, Milan and Miami. But while the venture is going large-scale, the designer is determined that every venue should retain his strong signature. “Everything will be Cavalli, from the furniture down to the ice holder and the dishes,” the designer tells WWD.
