As of next month, legendary designer Diane Von Furstenberg will be adding shoes to her label. A fashion icon herself, Diane, who heads up the Council of Fashion Designers of America has never designed shoes before, relying, like many designers, on Christian Louboutin to supply the footwear for her catwalk shows. But starting February, Diane’s new 12 piece shoe collection will be available in DVF stores around the world as well as in selected department stores and boutiques. Designs will include a must-have-for spring flat, gold sandal, this gorgeous chunky heel, strappy Pava shoe and the aptly named CEO pump. ” I wanted to create power shoes for the woman on-the-go and on her feet,” said von Furstenberg of her new collection. “My shoes are not just pretty accessories; they are functional and serve a purpose.
