Not only has she just scored herself a lucrative deal with Yves Saint Laurent, but Kate Moss has also just signed on with Donna Karan. This is the first time Kate will appear in a Donna Karan campaign, and Donna herself envisions Kate representing a woman whose “clothes don’t wear her, she wears the clothes. She’s wild and sexy and somebody who has the energy to hang out in the streets, to dance… A woman who would have lived in that rawness but with a polish at the same time”. Shot by Mert Alas and and Marcus Piggot, the shoot was styled around Karan’s “Nueva York” themed collection. “We went cinematographic,” Donna says of the ad campaign. “We wanted to tell a story and we wanted somebody who had energy, passion, sophistication and cool. You put it all together and it says ‘Kate’.” The supermodel is proving her career is still going strong despite reports that she has lost millions of pounds worth of deals.
