7th On Sale Charity Auction
The 7th On Sale charity auction is back with another one of a kind fashion experience. The annual event will offer shoppers thousands of items from the world’s top designers with all profits going to services and housing for those living with HIV and AIDS. “Its 20 years and more then 20 million deaths later and still no cure,” said spondor and designer Kenneth Cole. “42 million people are infected with HIV/AIDS and the largest statistic of all is “0.” That is the number of people who have been cured. AIDS is not going away and it is important that the fashion community, again, be leaders in this tragic battle: to know, prevent, cure and care.” The event will kick off on November 15, 2007 with a black-tie gala in New York followed by three crazy days of shopping open to the public (tickets are $20) in New York as well. Fashion lovers can also take part in a series of seven-day auctions on Ebay launching daily between Nov 15th and Dec 6th. All bids start at only 10% of the retail price and hundreds of designers have donated items and you can find items such as for celebrity-worn gowns, shoes, home goods, brilliant jewelry and more. Designers include Balenciaga, Jimmy Choo, YSL, Vera Wang, Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, Manolo Blahnik, and Valentino, among many others. Sounds like a great fashion deal!
