Paris Fashion Week: Chanel
Kirsten Dunst, Victoria Beckham, Claudia Schiffer, Rachel Bilson and Lily Allen were all among the stars present at the Chanel Spring 2008 fashion show earlier today in Paris. The ready-to-wear collection was presented on a midnight-blue catwalk that evokes the title of the collection :”Summer nights”. The general tendency of the show was high waisted denim, long skirts, sassy Chanel tweed jackets, rainbow knitwear and swimsuits. And for the girls who want to dance the night away without being encumbered by a handbag, Karl designed platform shoes with a quilted bag attached to the ankle, big enough for spare money, lipgloss and a credit card.

I think Karl’s new anklet satchels are a satire on the alchohol monitoring devices seen more and more on young stars today. This is exceedingly daring for Karl to do since a large part of his clientele are these young stars. Good work though Monsier Lagerfeld!
