Paris Fashion Week: Jean Paul Gaultier
Multiple brides and pirates was the theme of French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2008. Known as the enfant terrible of fashion he is the one who popularized the use of skirts and men’s kilts. Camouflage earth tones, and more feminine hues, such as turquoise, yellow and purple, were the dominant colors for the collection. Several models showed the pieces while smoking a pipe or a Marlboro. Gaultier used a lot of accessories like hats, umbrellas, leather belts and boots to emphasize the pirate look. Opinions on this collection are very divided some saying the pirate look is the anti-thesis of a 2008 Spring and other categorizing this collecion as pure art. We shall see which celebrities will wear the Jack Sparrow costume…
