Dior’s 60th anniversary in style and luxury
The world’s fashion capital was host to Dior’s 60th anniversary celebrations on Monday night as well as John Galliano’s 10th anniversary as fashion designer for the prestigious fashion house, which was completely restored for the occasion. “The objective was really to make it even more luxurious,” said Sidney Toledano, president of Dior. “The customer is looking for ever-more sophisticated products in ready-to-wear and accessories. The whole mix is going up.” The moment shoppers enter the boutique’s giant atrium with a 360-degree showcase of handbags and other leather goods they can feel the luxurious vibe. Above are plasma screens bradcasting video montages from Israeli artist Ovaroma. So it should come as no surprise that a number of celebrities came to the fashion house to celebrate Dior’s many achievements. Sharon Stone, Juliette Binoche, Monica Bellucci, Karl Lagerfeld and Elton John (who also performed at the gala’s dinner) were among the stars who stepped onto the “gleaming marble floors-etched in Dior’s signature canning pattern”.
The store opened its doors to the public today after 2 days of by-invitation only shopping for its best customers.
