Fergie the Scout
Hollywood is constantly launching fashion lines and perfumes, and it seems that Fergie won’t be left out. The singer has teamed up with Kipling USA to create two collections of handbags each set to launch in Fall 2007 and Spring 2008. “I’ve always been interested in expressing myself creatively, and this is another outlet for that,” she told Life & Style magazine. The Nice Scout line will be released in September and showcases leather, mesh fabrics and Camo prints. The Naughty Scout line will be released in October and features glittery gunmetal and smoky Slate in vibrant shades of fuschia. Inspired by Fergie’s 2006 Billboard Music Awards dress, the Dutchess line, set to launch in November, is comprised of rocking styles in Plaid print, Tassel print, as well as green and chic black tones. “The Dutchess was inspired by my family’s Scottish tartan. Fuchsia adds a pop of colour to every woman’s bag collection, and I love the bronze hue of the metallic carryall.” Said Fergie about her Fall 2007 collection. The bags will be available on www.kipling-usa.com starting September ($38-$198).
If you happen to be in New York on September 5th, the Dutchess herself will be making an appearance at Macy’s Herald Square to promote the line. A purchase of $75 and more will get you a pass to personally meet her and get your bag autographed. If you are not one of the lucky first 350 people in line, don’t be too sad because you will still get her CD for free (of course with a purchase of $75+).
